But I was taught to use 7 primary and 15 secondary for an HSS endmill. 5 primary and 10 secondary for carbide endmills. A .03" or so primary looks nice. Grind the od until you get a 1/16" wide primary, then setup a test indicator to measure the drop off to the relief...... .001" drop in 1/16" is very close to 1 degree.
